ALOE Systems is an international vendor of software solutions for the telecommunications industry. The company's main focus is on softswitch solutions, session border controllers, and IP-based service platforms for VoIP service providers. ALOE Systems' head office is located in Toronto, Canada. == History == ALOE Systems is a privately owned corporation with offices in Canada and Russia. Founded in 1989, the company has been involved in software development services since 1993. ALOE Systems started research and development in the voice over internet protocol field in 1998 and released its first VoIP product line in 2001. In the same year the company’s VoIP softswitches were successfully deployed by VoIP carriers internationally for management of VoIP traffic and intercarrier exchange. In 2003 ALOE Systems (known as MERA Systems then) became an independent international VoIP softswitch solutions vendor. Its first product, MVTS, quickly gained popularity among telecom carriers all over the world due to rich functionality and is still used by some of them today (2012). In 2006 the company launched a new platform for VoIP wholesale businesses, a successor to the legendary MVTS, which had special functionality for intercarrier traffic exchange management. Enhanced regularly with performance and functionality upgrades, it is the flagship product in ALOE Systems’ product line. The company met 2008 with further increase of product deployments and expansion of the product line: a new class 4 VoIP softswitch with session border controller functionality MVTS Pro was introduced, along with a multifunctional class 5 platform RTU. These products perform collection, switching, transcoding, and billing of VoIP traffic, at the same time being responsible for processing signaling and media data streams.
